Some of the ignorant disrespect shown in threads here reflects far more poorly on LSU than on SBU.

That said--

Stony Brook University, a part of the State University of New York system, is a public institution that was founded in 1957. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 16,342 (about 2/3 the size of LSU), its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 1,454 acres (about 3/4 the size of LSU). It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Stony Brook University's ranking in the 2012 edition of Best Colleges, National Universities, is 111 (LSU is 128). Its in-state tuition and fees are $6,820 (2011-12); out-of-state tuition and fees are $15,230 (2011-12).

SUNY-Stony Brook played a major role in the development of particle physics during the 1950s thru 1980s, but people around here are not likely to care.

I'm thinking of doing a Stony Brook Appreciation Thread on the Poli Board though. I think that would be the only place where the contributions would be significantly appreciated.

I doubt BR humidity as any worse than Miami:

Average relative humidity (%) for the most humid cities
City Humidity
New Orleans, Louisiana 75.9
Jacksonville, Florida 75.8
Houston, Texas 74.7
Orlando, Florida 74.1
Tampa, Florida 74.1
San Francisco, California 73.7
Seattle, Washington 73.3
Miami, Florida 73.2
Portland, Oregon 73.2
Rochester, New York 72.6

They seemed to get accustomed to the heat last week pretty quick. They can hit and they have two pretty good pitchers should be interesting. Oh yeah and the ol cliche it's baseball anything can happen.
