A Sunday Night meal in New Orleans...Suggestions?

What do you have? Open to most any cuisine. Prefer to stay in Nola proper. FWIW, I have Horinoya on my short list.

We'll look. Come visit Saturday at Clancy's. I'm sure to get a better table if an Uptown accent modifies the reservation.

You need to narrow it down for me a bit.

We're open to ideas. Preference is traditional Nola cuisine, Creole mostly, and I hate wearing a jacket. I was going to break down and do August this trip but I was too late with reservations.

No coat is required at Arnaud's.
Emeril's and Upperline are both good Sunday night restaurants. No coat required at either.

Borgne was cool a couple of weeks ago the Wednesday night before Thursday at Jazzfest

Like Gris said, Arnaud's is a good choice. I'd throw in Herbsaint, GW Fins, Cafe Adelaide, Iris, Bistro Daisy, and possibly Borgne.
Borgne is a bit more relaxed than all the other places and my dad didn't enjoy it at all but I thought it was really good. It's new and has some kinks they need to work out but I'd definitely go back.

I enjoyed it. I wasn't really feeling the dining area, but I sat in the bar and it was fine. Everything was real good.

I enjoyed the food at Borgne, but the atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired. I'd go back. I was simply surprised at the decor since it was a Besh restaurant. I think it's been described as somewhat cafeteria like in decor and that's definitely part of the feel, though once we sat down, that had no affect on the dining. It's not the traditional New Oreans fare you're looking for, but I'd keep it on the list of casual restaurants, otherwise.
For traditional New Orleans fare, you will enjoy Arnaud's. Slacks are fine there. Plenty in slacks on Easter Sunday, this year, even. Food was very good. Though the best time for oysters has passed, theirs are great. I like the sampler for a an app. Shrimp remoulaude is strong and tasty and the souffle potatoes are a must. One of my fellow diners got the turtle soup and thought it was better than last year which was very good and one of the best he's had. He orders it everywhere. It fits your needs foodwise.
Mandina's would fit, as well, on an even more casual scale. The menu includes much of the typical New Orleans foods.

I think we have a winner. I haven't been there in 15 years.

I've always liked the place. Many think it's overrated, but it's a good old neighborhood New Orleans joint with good food. It's not knock your socks off great, but it's solid, good plates, poboys, fried seafood etc... I have a think for the warm crabclaws in the butter, wine/sherry and breadcrumbs sauce. I made those over the weekend as a matter of fact. Service isn't warm and fuzzy, but it's fine. If you don't want to rush, try to space your ordering. They are busy and turn tables.
They do take credit cards, now, and they will take reservations, as well, now, but don't necessarily expect to be seated right away if you're reservation is at high time.
If you haven't been in a long time, you'll be interested to see the redo after the 6 or so feet of Katrina water.

It would have been nice if I'd written " I have a thing for them".
I make them for company. I made them for a friend of mine who grew up in New Orleans and only recently moved away. She'd never had them, but loved them. Very simple, but different thing to do.
