Looking at Odoh's numbers he looks like Tyrus Thomas only a few inches taller. How come he was going to North Texas? Seems like a lot of the bigger schools would have been all over the kid. I mean I look at 14 boards and 5 blocks a game and think this kid is a no brainer, huge get.

Looks like my concerns about JJ are being proven wrong. Hope it stays that way. Need an intersting team to watch between football seasons. Nothing against, baseball - I like it, too, but I remember when we used to have a decent BB team and would like to see that once again.

I wouldn't be too quick to say that JJ has this team completely rebuilt right now.

I have to admit I wasn't overly excited when JJ was hired. However, the way he has started has given me some newfound excitement . I can't wait for LSU BB to be good again. A full house in the PMAC is as good as it gets . The future looks bright.

He's plugging some leaks for the short term so we can compete now. Things aren't looking quite as bleak as they did a few weeks ago. A tournament team right now? Probably not. You add Udoh and I think we inch closer to that status.

I was incredibly unsure and skeptical of this hire initially, but he has to get an A for effort to this point. He is definitely putting in the work to prove he deserves this job.

Point taken but it doesn't negate the fact that relative to Trent Johnson he has rebuilt the team completely. The transformation is way beyond my expectations regardless of which coach we had snagged.

If we have one wing player that can drive to the goal for a dunk or layup i will wet myself. Not one athlete on the wing is pretty embarrassing. Johnny has changed that already

I think we will see that in Coleman and maybe even Hammink too, based off of his highlights.

People are missing the point. That jones would recruit well was never in question. That he will field a team that consistently wins tourney games is very much in question

Whats the story on this kid? Dandy Don said this morning that he has a troubled past? Hopefully he's cleaned up.

But I'm excited about the future of LSU basketball and glad Coach jones has come in making noise.

story on the JUCO transfer

quote:

Godfrey played only his freshman season at Iowa State in 2010-11 before being dismissed from the team following an arrest for marijuana possession. Godfrey had also been suspended earlier that season for three Big 12 games for violating unspecified team policies.

TJ should have recruited jc players more often imo, considering all we lost from the SEC champions team.

Thinking average freshmen would fill those holes was just stupid.

He didn't think that. His goal was completely focusing on the APR situation. His biggest folly was not being able to juggle the APR and win at anything remotely resembling a consistent clip.

That mentality and the lack of winning cost the program a lot of support.

The Kirby hire was the selling point for me.

Why not just go ahead and support him as our new coach. He isn't going anywhere so why take a negagtive attitude before he even coaches his first game? It sure looks like he is working harder at recruiting than our previous coach. That's a positive.

If you are an LSU fan...get behind the coach.

What a sane/reasonable thought process!

I like it, but we have to remember we have those who still feel the LM hire was a mistake.

I was hoping for a better resume than JJ's, but he's the guy that will be walking the sidelines so...he's my guy all the way.

I have never doubted the JJ ability to bring in talent.

I would love to carry the BAG For Johnny. He will have LSU back in the top 20 in 2 years.
