Reviews? Recommendations?

Have a Baton Rouge In-Law going to N.O. for a few days with her job, and she's asking aboutthe place, because that's where her and some co-workers decided they're having dinner tomorrow.

Not one of the better places in the Quarter. The oyster bar, however, is very good.

I would keep it simple and go for the basics that look good.

I will never step foot in this establishment ever again.

I guess you could say I would not recommend.

What is so bad about the place? I've been a few times before Saints games. Its not fine dining, but the oyster bar and bar/party atmosphere is pretty good. Oysters Fonseca, Bienville are very tasty and the fish dishes I've had are pretty tasty. Don't go looking for an August or Commanders experience and its not a prime steakhouse either. For you who have had bad experiences there, elaborate a little.

I thought the service sucked arse the one time I went. I sat at the bar and heard the bartender and a server arguing about some silly crap and the foreign server told the bartender if she had lived in his country, she would be floating face down in a river already.

I thought the food was ok at best. I know quite a few people who have had bad meals there. Both in terms of food and service.
I'm sure most of the time it will be fine, but for that price point you can do much better.

And place don't throw out that lame arse crap about the place not being August or Commanders so that means we somehow shouldn't judge the place poorly.

I agree.

True, but can be a little inconsistent. Frankly, that's the problem to me. Sometimes the food is perfectly acceptable, though not great. Other times it's really not very good. Truth be told, I've never had an absolutely horrible meal there, but there are better choices nearby, imo.

Their oyster bar is very good, though.

NOTIGER, I just wondered what went wrong with the first few experiences. Some people would consider that level of dining fine dining. I was just trying to separate the restaurant class. I think the initial post was to find out some info about the place. Cool..

I went there this weekend. I think it's a great place for drinks. If you're going to pay $12 a drink on Bourbon anyway, may as well sit a super nice place with comfy bar stools. I tried a few bourbons...

Have went twice and will never go back again. Especially with Mr. B's right around the corner.
