EA is the producer... Maxis is the developer!

you are thinking about the expansion pack. vanilla sim 4 had no such requirements

important questions for this game:
a) square grid or hex/oct grid
b) customization levels of each building. ie the exact same bus stop in several colors/textures, not all the same level looking the same
c) pathfinding/distance timer. previous games did not recognize a diagonal line as quicker than the "L" equivalent. this better be fricking fixed.

i told yall i nerd hard on this shite

Awesome.

Simcity 4 had problems with its engine, and my god was it hard to link up sections of interstate some times.

I wish they would just keep making these ad infinitum. Would love any kind of extra mode where you can drive/fly around your city in 3D. I think they did it once with "Streets of SimCity."

Don't need it though of course.

sim fricking copter was the bomb. how fantastic is it to do a flight sim through a city you designed.

oh this game has such possibilities. i imagine we will have to depend on mod teams like we did SC4 however

I have a love/hate relationship with the expansion pack. On the one hand, the fact that it put in the various taxing structures was a godsend compared to regular sim 4 as well as some other features. OTOH, the side missions were stupid. I don't really care for the whole, "sim-person" involvement that they did and look to be continuing to do.

I hated building anything near/next to/on the water.

I want to be able to curve roads for prettiness factor, but I imagine that would mess some stuff up.

nah there were user created mod packs that made it fairly easy. used to be part of a community that modded SC4 content. had a hella good pathfinding fix. unfortunately there was nothing you could do about the "diagonal" problem.

a hex or oct grid would be a great improvement over the square, but it doesnt appear they are going to do it.
