Does anybody know if LSU is recruiting him? R Randle just tweeted something about you know your school is big time when Ken Griffey Jr. flies himself out to visit. I can't think of any other reason KGJ would be at LSU

No offer listed on Rivals or any interest, but that doesn't mean a whole lot.

I know Gary Sheffield and his boy visited LSU last year, I think his son is a football/baseball prospect

I see that he is an Under Armor All-American and had a pretty good year receiving with 72 catches, just under 1,000 yards and 11 tds

KGJ to this day has one of the greatest swings of all time. If he didn't have so many injuries he'd have been one of the greatest to ever play, maybe still is.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Baton Rouge will benefit from Saturday’s second-annual Marucci Live, a gala set for the Baton Rouge River Center that will feature 19-time All- Star and Hall of Fame shortstop Cal Ripkin Jr. and as many as 20 more major leaguers and former LSU players.

Marucci is a bat company started by LSU trainer Jack Marucci.

Marucci CEO Reed Dickens said Marucci Live is designed to honor the baseball players “for their achievements both on and off the field,” to raise money for the local Boys & Girls Clubs and to “highlight baseball moments and milestones of 2011.”

Among the top major leaguers confirmed to attend are Baton Rougean Chad Durbin, former Seattle and Cincinnati All-Star outfielder Ken Griffey Jr., Harold Reynolds, Jose Cruz Jr., Geoff Jenkins, Ryan Vogelsong, Lake Charles’ Casey Daigle and his wife star softball player Jennie Finch and Lafayette’s Paul Bako.

Orlando Sentinel's coverage of him getting his UAA jersey

quote:

Griffey turned in one of the finest seasons for a wide receiver in the history of Dr. Phillips football. He had 72 catches, 970 yards and 11 touchdowns. He now holds four school records for receptions in a game (13), receiving yards in a game (188), receptions in a season (72) and receiving yards in a season (970).

First of all let me say that Griffey Jr is my favorite player of all time and for my money the best player of his era(no drugs) and I would love to have him around the program. His kid isn't going to LSU unless it's as a walk on. He's a solid prospect with good athleticism and could turn out to be a good college wr(never doubt those bloodlines) but not at LSU. Last I heard he was close to commiting to a Big 10 school.(Purdue I believe but can't say 100%)
