If they can just make it through this year, then after the season pick up Matt Flynn who is set to become a unrestricted free agent. This could maybe put the Silver and Black back on top.

If they are giving up a 1st round pick for Carson Palmer, who hasn't played a down this year, it had to have been Al Davis' dying wish. Hopefully for their sake this isn't true.

I agree with that, but I was saying that getting Matt Flynn for next year could put them back on top.

Why give up a 1st if you are only using Palmer for this year?
The Raiders are a running team anyway. I don't know if Palmer is much of an upgrade over Boller if you're just talking this year.
