What are some cool food places to stop on the way?

I'm taking a few buddies to New Orleans, and we have done the usual drive through Baton Rouge, but they want to see a different part of Louisiana.

We're always looking for good food, but I would love to hear if y'all knew of any neat attractions or pit stops we should do.

Thanks y'all.

ETA: There's a good place to eat in Morgan City as well, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment. Maybe someone else can help a brother out.

Catman, I'm inexperienced from Lafayette to Houma. So all down US-90 between those two.

Yep. But he said they wanted to see some scenery. And the food is good.

Get off 90 at Gibson, Chesters might be open. Whole different world to say the least.

I'll second Spars & Bloody Marys @ Franks

Hitting Nunu's grocery in Youngsville on the way home for Boudin and sasauge to bring to the house would be a must for me.

Riverside Inn in Broussard, right past Lafayette airport.

Boiling Point off of Hwy. 90 right before New Iberia.

Yellow Bowl in Franklin area - if coming from Lafayette, turn left at Four Corners left. Go about 1-2 miles and take right on Main Street at Sugar Mill. Go on Main Street for about a mile and Yellow Bowl is on your left.

Its been a while and I'm not sure if its still open, but Mr. Lesters was a great steak house in the casino just past Franklin.
