Someone on texags.com posted this. As an Aggie, I like it because we are in the west with LSU, Arkansas, and Missouri, the three SEC schools that we have a history with.

What do you guys think of it?

LSU would love that map. Doubt if the East team goes for that.

No. No. No. Put Mizzou in the East and be done with it. People want to make it so much harder than it needs to be.

That won't happen for competitive balance purposes. LSU would be the heavy favorite every year.

Yea. LSU would win the West 9 years out of 10.

So in other words, an automatic bid for LSU to Atlanta nearly every year?

Geographically, it makes sense, but from the perspective of talent, not so much.

There are six traditionally stronger teams. That map puts 5 if those in the east. Mizzou to the East and be done with it.

Seems about right.

Hell, if USC can get away with only having to face Ariz St, UCLA, Colorado, Utah, Arizona in their geologically-divided division, why can't LSU have a taste of patsies on a geological plate.

Too much power in the east. If LSU were to Lose playing Auburn and Alabama every year I would almost rather a North South alignment. Even though it would mean more travel it would be a bit more even in football.

North
Mizzou
Kentucky
Tennessee
South Carolina
Alabama
Auburn
Arkansas

South
LSU
Texas A&M
Ole Miss
Miss State
Florida
Georgia
Vandy (Only fair to split Vandy and Kentucky they are both weaker in football).

I can tell you 7 SEC teams who would vote no to that arrangement right now if you would like. It's amazing how much effort people make to complicate things before even thinking about the basics.

The split with the grey line is about 100 time more preferable. Kind of a NE/SW split. And the competitive split of the teams (based on traditional team strength) is pretty dammned equal on that one. We certainly don't want to be in a division that gets classified as the "weak" division.

If we know for a fact that we would got to 16 teams in the next few years, I could see it passing so those old rivalary games aren't messed up. But yeah that is really unbalanced.

Unbalanced. Except for LSU and maybe Arky, all the glamor/power is concentrated in the East. I don't like this mix at all.

Mizzou to east, x div with tam play 9 conf games everything stays the same until we go to 16 over the next year which is going to happen, too many beast teams will need homes.

That map is horrible for LSU in the long run. I think that LSU will lose a lot of recruits because the blue chippers want to play against the best. I can see Saban asking recruits do you want to play against Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida or Miss State and Vanderbilt etc.
