I guess I just don't get how Clemson could be twice as good as we are, and a Bama almost that much.

Texas being at 5 is pretty comical and Wisconsin not being in the top 10 is laughable.

Then you don't understand the computer rating system. Unlike the polls, it doesn't contain a component that looks to where the ranker thinks the team will finish. It only manipulates the data available to it to date. Neither the human polls nor the computer rankings mean squat at this stage of the season. It's just harder to convince ourselves of that with the human polls.

Yup. Mississippi State sucking has been terrible for us.
We still have four probably ranked opponents left though and Clemson has two.

Clemson will NOT be #2 in the BCS. They are too far back in the human polls.

I don't know. I don't run a ranking system that's supplied to the BCS. I'm just telling you WHY they're currently ranked #2.
