We have beaten 3 also. I know MS is no longer ranked but they were when we played and is FSU still ranked?

The computers make up only 1/3 of the BCS. Human polls make up the other 2/3. So Clemson won't be #2.

I don't have an issue with Clemson being ahead at this point. MSU blowing is going to hurt us this early.

But if it comes out that way, I must say that Illinois might be the worst team to ever appear in the Top 10 of the BCS rankings.

Georgia wasn't rated much higher when Boise beat them. How do they still get ranked so high?

But Moo state isn't ranked anymore.

Of course, neither is Georgia, but Boise is somehow in the top 5

"we have beaten three ranked teams, miss state, oregon and west virginia."

But MSU is light years away from being ranked right now, and that is what matters.

Guys, relax. You're looking at this the wrong way.

The computers aren't saying "Alabama" is best, they're saying that "Alabama has so-far accomplished the most" (according to the computer calculations). It is only as the season nears its conclusion do computer rankings gradually become "Team 1 is best".

Kentucky, Mississippi State, and FCS foe Northwestern State are bringing LSU's strength of schedule down.

Relax, everything will work itself out as the season progresses.

If you want to get even madder, look at where my mathematical algorithm has LSU... and mine has been more accurate at predicting winners than even Sagarin. But, no, LSU is definitely better than at least two teams above it right now... it's just that, unlike most, my system starts every team off exactly equal (zero bias) and it can take a while to get the proper level of mathematical separation. collegepigskin.com

Or if you want to really lose it, Colley's rankings are used in the BCS calculations and his zero-bias rankings have LSU down even further: Colley

Wisconsin not being in the top 5 at the end of the year pretty much kills this projection's credibility IMO

ETA

- I saw 'projection' and assumed that this was EOY; is this supposed to be current rankings? either way, Wisconsin should be top 5.....

So how many of the 41 teams your system has ahead of Oregon would you be willing to bet $100 on if they were playing each other this week?

Clemson will drop AT LEAST 1 game this season. Book it.

ETA: Red River Shootout separates the men from the boys. Or Texas will lose horribly like everyone expects and the BCS will REALLY know whats up.
