Mrs T-Bro and I had lunch at a Beck's Prime yesterday.
First time to eat there.
My first reaction was "holy crap, $9 for a burger?"
Had the blue cheese burger, the bride had the california burger (with avacado).
Truly outstanding!
Probably one of best burgers I've ever had at a restaurant.
If you're in Houston, I highly recommend it.

I've been planning on going to one of these for awhile (eta for awhile I mean like two weeks), I just haven't gone yet. Not that its all that relevant, but out of curiosity, I just looked up the nutrional info. [LINK]

Blue Cheese burger: 914 calories
California burger: 892 (do not know if this includes avocado).

Bet she thought you were eating like a fat arse and she was eating healthy. You win.

$9 for hamburger is very reasonable IMO.

Beck's is pretty good.

Hubcap Grill, Lankford's, and the Petrol Station probably have the best burgers in town IMO.

Drove past the one in the Heights twice already and it was closed both times (supposedly they arent open before 5pm yet), but looking forward to trying it.

Not a bad burger. Decent place for watching football.

add Johnathon's to that list and you have em all covered

I think Beck's is good but for a burger, fries, and a drink you are $15.

I'm just saying, looking at the menu calories, adding a burger and a soft drink is probably approaching 1300 calories. Under a dollar a calorie is pretty good bang for your buck for something that isn't Wendys/McDonalds.

I've always wanted to try Lankford's.
One day, I'll get over there.

I'd be happy if I could get out of any place here in Houston that's not fast food or a taqueria for 9 bones.

Offshore, what are some good taquerias inside the loop (south of 59 or west of Kirby would be ideal)?

Yeah, that place is $4.75 for a bowl of Pho but offshore already knows about that place. He was the one who reccomended it to me.

La Guadalupana on Dunlavy is probably the best in the area you outlined.

People rave over El Rey, I mean it's okay, same with La Tapatia, just okay.

If you go up to Caninio's farmer's market, there are a bunch of taco trucks in the back on the weekends, great shite. Being able to speak Spanish is almost a necessity if you go here.

My go to's are on the east side of town. Taqueria El Regio near our terminal in Galena Park is probably my number one in town right now.
