Any word from spring practice on who is emerging as the starting kicker and punter for next season? How are they looking in practice? Special teams has been the least of our worries over the last few seasons with Jasper. Hope we can say the same for his replacement (and hope his replacement can tote the rock).

Germans, I'm sure.

Looks like Alleman will be the kicker and Wing will be the punter.

How about the PK? Hard to expect anyone to match up to Jasper, but hope he is reliable.

They said Alleman would have the full starting job.

Yeah, I was reading up on Alleman. Nothing blew me away, but I didn't dig too deep.

Since the coaching staff offered the kid from Dallas, James Hairston, a scholarship in a year LSU could only sign 23, I wonder if they were really satisfied with Alleman going into this season?

I was in Houston about a year ago and got on a bus at the airport. I had some LSU stuff on and this kid and his mom started talking to us. Found out he was a kicker from Australia trying to come play for LSU and I was like wow sweet, I'll be sure to look out for you.
Said his name was Brad Wing.

Doesn't matter, because we will ABSOLUTELY SUCK HOG without JoeRob here to help us run ST.

Dude won a frickin' award, man. Guy's awesome.

Heckuva recruiter, too.

I mean, anyone who reels in a group like Dalton Botts...err.

Okay, scratch that last sentence.

Dude won a frickin' award, man! For coaching special teams!

Dude's awesome!

We're screwed.

HOw is Mannon coming along-the one-armed kicker? Heard he was supposed to be pretty solid as a PK & as a KO specialist. I do have a "question" of his ability to play his position on KO's, after the kick. The kicker is usually the last defense on KO's if the return guy breaks through. I think it would be hard for him to make a one-armed tackle of a guy barreling down on him. Maybe he just puts em' all in the back of the endzone & you don't have to worry about that?

Opposed to other guys that try to make a one arm tackle that have two arms

According to what Miles has said, he could not tell the difference between Jasper and Alleman during practice. Seeing it in a game is a different story.
