re: OB tire guys - halleburton
I had a 2008 2500HD 4x4 and needed a two inch level to run 285/75R16 on stock wheels. Tires were good year duratracs.
You definitely don't need a leveling kit to fit 285s on a 2500. I've had the same size tire on three different 1500s and never rubbed once. 305/70s had a slight r...

re: Are river stages directly related to elevation? - halleburton
I don't think so. For example, certain areas of Natchez are 200' above sea level, while the river stages are in the 30s typically. Maybe I'm wrong though....

re: Black panthers...let's put this to rest - halleburton
In a world where nearly everyone carries an HD camera at all times, and thousands upon thousands of game cameras in the woods year in and year out, there isn't one picture or video showing one. Add to the fact that there has never been one killed by a hunter or a vehicle, and I think they are BS. Ey...

re: Casting Lead Weights - Can I use a beer can for a mold? - halleburton
How about an inverted beer bottle? Cut the bottom off with a diamond blade. It would be pretty aerodynamic too going down. "Aerodynamic" probably the wrong word....

re: Is it or isn't it a good idea to tie a pergola into a roof? - halleburton
I wouldn't put anything on the roof unless you know how to properly flash and re-shingle it. Free standing is much safer and cleaner looking, even if it's taller than the overhang. If you are set on the 3 post design, I would add another joist across the hypotenuse and create a triangle shaped p...

Good luck keeping those cantilevered members from sagging over time. Add a 4th post and do it right....

re: HVAC experts seer question - halleburton
Do you not trust your AC guy? Higher seer will be more energy efficient, but cost more up front. To get the most bang for your buck, go with 14 seer IMO. AC guys only pay about 10% more to go from 14 to 15, but will charge substantially more for what amounts to the exact same install. et...

re: Craft beer in the panhandle - halleburton
Go to the Craft Bar in Grayton, tons of craft beers on tap. Also the Growler Garage by Gulf Place. Chan's wine world has best beer selection for a liquor store, it's in Grand Blvd by Sandestin. For local beers, Idyll hounds is better than Grayton IMO....

re: Outdoor Kitchens - halleburton
They make exterior ice makers for under cabinet applications, I would go with one of those. Unless they make outdoor rated dishwashers, I wouldn't even try it. If so, get the longest warranty they offer. Or go cheap and plan on replacing regularly. ...

re: Educate me about wild pig please... - halleburton
Backstrap and tenderloin (if decent size/worth the effort), trash the rest. Eta: don't try to skin the whole back, make several 3-4" cuts down the back and skin them individually, their skin is tough as hell and thick, really tough to get off. Wear gloves as well like others have said....

re: Need help putting top or roof on 12' x 10' Pergola - halleburton
Is the trellis still in good shape? Assuming it has zero slope, I wouldn't put a roof on it. That sunbrella type fabric would be a good choice, still lets water through but provides shade as well. If you are re-doing the trellis on top to accept a roof (and adding slope) then go for it, but I...
