I'm a bourbon drinker, so I know dick about vodka other than I don't like it and look down on those that drink it.
I need a few recommendations for a gift. Under a 100 bucks a bottle preferably, something a little more unique than say Dripping Springs/Tito's/Stoli/Goose.

Any vodka that is distilled five times is as good as any other. You don't need to spend close to 100.00 bucks. Vodka is actually a poor man's drink.

Unless it's tokka vodka. I only drink whiskey So I can't judge what fine vodka is, but tokka must be twice distilled from the anus of a warthog.

Offshore...go to Specs and get a bottle of the Dan Akroyd vodka...no idea how it tastes, probably pretty good, but the bottle is awesome looking.

Absolutely correct. It's mostly about marketing and label fetish.

I like my bloody mary's in the morning but that's probably my only use for vodka and it really doesn't matter what kind it is for that.

Double Cross Vodka. You can also engrave the name of the person on the cap if it is a gift. Great tasting and around $50.

i had this argument with a polish guy who was defending the taste of vodka. poland makes the best vodkas, all different subtle flavors, etc. i was arguing then that means it's not vodka. but maybe i was wrong.
