No thread on this? I had to start one just because of my question.

Jehovah witness people don't celebrate birthdays? I was pretty confused on that part.

Birthdays are for Pagans. Every candle blown out brings you one step closer to eternal damnation.

Was a pretty funny episode last night. L Street > The Red Door

I enjoyed last night's episode, but it wasn't as good/funny as it normally is.

It was cool seeing Troy as the smart, responsible one for a change though.

When Jeff and Berta were making out, Abed's face was hilarious

Really? You a witness, or you looked this up

When describing Community to friends, I usually throw in a line that "no episode misses". I felt like last episode was a miss. None of the storylines seemed to flesh out. Peirce getting stuck in the doorway seemed like just a way to fit him in the episode. I felt like they also tried to make Ahbed look like a sad drunk in Troy's eyes while Ahbed hardly drank anything. I just thought it was a little weird. I felt like the Annie story was the only one that hit.

That's the impression I got from googling. Although I made up the part about the candles for dramatic effect.

I loved the line when Troy slams on the breaks of the car to bitch out Jeff and Brita and says, "For 2 years I've looked up to you guys thinking you were smarter than me, now I realize that you're both just as dumb as I am" ... (or something to that effect). I don't know why, but I lost it after that.

It took a while to develop but I thought the way Brita and Winger's story line ended up was pretty funny.

That seems like you're trying to not like Abed's story line. His part wasn't big this week but was actually pretty good. Maybe it helped that I got all his Farscape references.

He's more funny when he's being inappropriate old guy rather than doing the physical humor.

It was a weird episode, especially Shirley being a drunk. I can see where they would find that funny, but it just doesn't seem to fit her character at all. She doesn't seem like a reformed do gooder , she seems like a life long do gooder.

Spot on. I am pretty jacked up for the stop-motion Christmas special next week.

exactly my reaction. not a terrible episode but the conclusion to each story line left you flat while each one individually had potential.

this is my favorite show on TV. Last night's episode wasn't up to par. It wasn't as clever or funny as it usually is, but it had some moments.

The pierce stuff was dumb.

was it just me, or was Annie even hotter with her accent.

While watching the episode my immediate reaction was that it wasn't up to par but as it went on it seemed like the preachy-ness was so over stated that I came to a conclusion that this episode was a tribute to the crappy sitcoms of the 90's always having that one serious, teach you a lesson episode. Not sure if this is true but after I came up with that I felt better about the episode.

Also, I like Shirley having at one time been a drunk. Shirley doesn't get too many wrinkles and I think it explains why she's such a do-gooder now-a-days.

Did Shirley have a drink during this episode? I don't think she did, but I was just wondering since they are going with the pregnant angle with her.
