I too realized towards the end that the entire episode may have been a send-up on the "very special episode" trope.
It may have been a little too subtle though and didn't come across as obvious as they intended.

I didn't catch that, but thinking back I can see it. I will probably hulu it this weekend with that in mind to see if it gives me a different opinion on it. I thought it was okay but not great, but it definitely had its moments.

I thought it was a really good episode. Pierce's storyline was the only kinda weak part IMO.

Ok so I recorded Naked Gun 2 1/2 the other night and I just got around to watching it and during commercials there was a mini show I guess called "Hot SLuts" starring Annie playing one of the hot sluts dressed up like Maryanne from Gilligans Island.
Am I the only one who hadn't seen this already? It also had the Russian actress that plays the detective assistant in The Good Guys as another hot slut with her huge tits sticking out the whole time.
Mac's mom from Sunny is also in it but she didn't play one of the hot sluts.

Not sure if this is true but after I came up with that I felt better about the episode.
just watched this episode and it seemed a bit strange tonight but once I read this it all clicked. That's exactly what it was trying to accomplish. Props for catching that. Now I change my view on this episode all the way
