Left out for christmas vacation at the beach on Tuesday afternoon...no scale while I was gone. Just got home a few minutes ago and hopped on to see the good news. I kicked the Holiday's arse so far. Here's hoping that number is around the same when I weigh in tomorrow morning.

I've slacked during Holiday, but I hit the gym Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday so far this week.... probably won't go today as I spent my morning digging

So my bench has been stuck at 135x5 for the last 6 months. Hasn't gone up. I've tried many times to go up 10 or even 5 pounds and hit failure before I get to 5th rep. After researching and again filming myself to see my form; I corrected my hand position (was using too much wrist, actually causing my wrists to hurt) and spreading my elbows out rather than keeping them in. Still, corrected form and all, I've been stuck at 135. So I did more research. I fail at the top of the lift, before lockout.. so I've determined that my triceps are holding me back, and sure enough once I corrected my form, my triceps are on fire and pretty much dead after a 5x5 bench at 135. So, I've decided to do some isolation on triceps twice a week to build them up. Today was the first day I did some isolation. What I found is that my left tricep is amazingly weaker than my right. The difference is substantial. My left tricep hit failure 3-4 reps MINIMUM before my right when I used dumbbells. That is some serious muscular imbalance. Anyone have any tips on how to correct this?

I never do bench, just use the 65-85 pound dumbbells

Obviously dumbbells will help me even out the imbalance... but I get way nervous doing heavy presses with dumbbells. All that goes through my mind is "what if I drop this on my face?!"

I started out on the 45's around thanksgiving since I had given up lifting and now I am back to using the 75's. I like it better than bench actually unless I am using the bench glider thing.

the only time I use a smith machine is for incline bench. It just feels so awkward without the smith machine that I don't like it. I need to use dumbbells more often, they really expose imbalances.

Yeah I learned my left was weaker so I started using 5lbs more on my left till I finally evened out.

When I go I do dumb bell press x5 do 65x2 then increase to 75x2 then down to 50 for last set.

Hi all, I haven't been in this thread for awhile but my goal is to lose 20 pounds starting Jan 1.
What do these numbers represent?

Ran a mile, lifted, did 5 sets of sprints on a treadmill yesterday. Good workout.

I've been using myfitnesspal and fitbit flex for the last few weeks. I've found it's really effective. I'm always trying to get 5 miles in somewhere during the day and it makes it easy to monitor my caloric intake. Myfitnesspal's database is impressive.

I get started back up with the personal trainer next Saturday.

Sometimes the database is too big even, especially if you don't have the barcode to scan.

Yeah, the bar code scan feature is a timesaver

Started last week...205/202/175...5'9"...41 yrs. old.

I don't drink. My calories come from junk food (carbs and sugars). I have a road bike and want to be at 175 by April when riding season starts up again.
