Milk. Any liquid dairy product should sooth the pain.

Would be better off using

1) Soap (probably concentrated dish washing liquid)

2) If that doesn't work (it always did for me), maybe try rubbing cooking oil into it before using the soap.

Sour cream should work too.

Isn't that for smelly hands?

The stuff that burns you is an oil. I'm going with the soap and lots of cool water.

Edit: Actually ... what kind of fricking girly hands does the OP have that a jalepeno is burning him?

I've gotten it on my privates when taking a drunken piss at a crawfish boil. I didn't pour milk down my pants though.

Rub the burning area on your nose, the mucus will coat it and stop the burning.. JUST KIDDING.

I did the same thing last week. There is a protein in milk that neutralizes the capsicum.

I've had the same experience taking out my contacts after a crawfish boil. Not good.
