Thought some folks might be interested to know that he's been working extremely hard this off season to battle for the starting spot and has lost serious weight. I know that at one point his weight had become and issue with the coaching staff but Jarrett has lost something like 15-20 lbs. and is looking solid.

This message in no way should be considered an endorsement of either quarterback. Both are LSU players and have my full support, along with the entire coaching staff.

I would be interested to see if it was Gonzalez.

I can see Stud doing it, INTs look better than SACKS for an OL. You gotta pick your poison

When hasn't he looked solid in practice or the offseason?

I'm not saying that the guy is going to be the starting QB or anything, but I really like that he's going to push Jefferson every single day to become a better player. Rivalry and a competitive mentality is exactly what this team needs. Sept. 4 can't get here soon enough

I'm just saying that his overall approach has changed and his work ethic is becoming evident again. He's working hard, and his commitment to this team is stronger.

If true, great news. If he's the backup, I hope he is ready to lead the team if needed. If he's the starter, I hope he proves to be the best man for the job. If JJ's the starter, I hope Lee pushes him all fall.

Until i see him slinging the ball to the right spots and putting up halfway decent numbers, my only image is that LA Tech game; which was dreadful

It's good to hear. Obviously JJ will start the season as the starter but it's highly likely that JL will need to step in due to injury at some point. If he comes in and explodes he may keep the job.

Watching him right now. Recorded a few games from the last few years. Tonight is Bama in 08. Just saw Lee's first pick of the game. Not a bad throw. Threaded 3 defenders then Byrd caught it...got hit and the ball popped up in the air. Seems that the luck doesn't go Lee's way either.

To quote the immortal Al Davis "Just win baby!"
I give a shite less who starts, finishes, runs to the locker room in the middle of the quarter to take a piss. All I want are the W's!
