I still think Lee gives us the best chance to win...

I would rather take a 14/26 288 yd 3 td 2 int QB

than...

a 12/29 148 yd 1 TD qb

(Unknown to many people who post here, you don't have to trash one young fella to prop up your favorite)

Where did i trash one young fella to prop up my favorite?

Miles makes a lot of $$$$$$$$$ so he better have 2 to 3 q.b.'s ready

As i see miles will start JJ so i will pull for him to do good and if Jlee comes in and takes over the job I will pull for him!

I want LSU to win i'am not here to win the rant's I think the best q.b. is game!

There's no difference b/w the two fictitious stat lines you give.

First off, you're not likely to get 20 yards per reception in the first stat line, and if half your INT's are returned for TD's, you break even. But, there's still another turnover to be accounted for and the possible resulting points.

The second stat line is still at a positive production with 1 TD. I get what you're saying as far as having someone who can throw downfield, but the turnovers, and the fact that you will most likely not get that kind of yardage or points from 14 completions sort of negates the argument.

I think 19 of 31 for 190 with 2 TD's and an INT would be suitable for victory in most games we play against our better competition.

Well neither one of our QBs have really been putting up numbers like those you listed. I think it's Jefferson that you want because he's closer to putting up those numbers recently than Lee
(the numbers you prefer anyway).

Lee has only reached 200 yards 1 time in his last five starts (against Troy). He's had under 100 in two of them and 105 against La. Tech. He got hurt against Ole Miss late in the first half, but was not even close to 100. He also hasn't had more than 1 TD in his last 5 starts.

Jefferson has reached over 200 yards 2 times in his last five starts. He's had multiple TDs in 3 of those games and hasn't been under 100 yards. Jefferson also got hurt against Bama on the first possession of the 2nd half, but already had over 100 at half and a TD.

Oddly enough though, LSU lost both games where JJ went over 200 recently. Then again, he hit over 200 against Auburn, Georgia and State and we won.

Here's your deep ball - short memory??

39 yard completion - longer than anything Lee had against a La Tech team that finished 4-8. Lee had a 38-yarder against Tech, but it was a five yard pass that Lafell took for another 35 yards.

And one more for good measure

Third to last game... Yes, this was a debacle. Jefferson took a totally dumb sack, the coaches blew it even more by not calling timeout and they blew it again by not having their team ready in case Jefferson completed the pass. It was a great catch, but the throw was surprisingly accurate for how long it was. He threw it 52 yards and LSU gained 43. You can't ask for more than that.

Wow just wow. You post two youtube vids of Jefferson throwing it down field. The first one is about a 25 yards pass to Tolliver. Nowhere close to deep ball. The second one shows JJ just throwing the ball up and Tolliver makes a great catch. Like I've said before I think JJ should be the starter and I've asked time and time again for someone to show me a Jefferson deep ball and every single person has come up waaaay short.

A Jefferson Completion of 25 yards or more....

You're the one that was talking about deep balls and then posted a sarcastic clip of Jefferson throwing for an eventual gain of 25 or more.

I don't even think your "wow just wow" stuff is convincing to yourself. That play against Penn St. was spotted at the 40 and Toliver caught it right about the 10. So he threw on the run with heavy pressure in the worst conditions and gained 30 just through the air. Toliver then took it another nine yards to the one.

You can say what you want about the Ole Miss bomb. But it was a completed bomb and it was very nicely thrown while he was getting clobbered. Toliver did make a great catch. But it wasn't a one-handed catch or a tipped ball. He just caught it in really tight coverage and got hit too. You can't ask for more from your QB when throwing that pass. Toliver basically caught it in stride.

Since you're pressing the issue

It's a somewhat crappy video, but you get the picture. It was a bomb that went for a TD and was easy to catch. There you go. It's 15 yards longer than Lee has ever gotten with a true bomb.
He had a 66-yarder against UGA, but that was a screen pass to KW. His next longest was 43 yards.

I didn't say JJ was great at long balls and he did struggle at the beginning of last season with hitting them. But he got better with them as the season went on. He's had some nice connections on longer passes, but still needs to work on it. And Lee does too. That's the point. Lee is not superior to JJ with long passes.

When hasn't he looked solid in practice or the offseason?

I don't know where the idea comes from that he has always looked good in the offseason and practice. The guy has never opened the season as a starter and in fact was beaten out by a Harvard transfer. He only got to play because of injury his entire career. Seems to me if he was a great practice player he would have been awarded a starting position.

That said, I hope this is a sign of good things to come from our qb position regardless of who it is.

JL put 270 on miss state, won sec fresh of week and we got a W at home
close to 300 on uga in a L at home
almost 200 vs usc on road in a w.
almost 200 in 2 qrtrs vs Au in comeback W.

take away couple bad throws vs uga and this is his best performances as a tiger.
