Some friends are stuck in New Orleans for the night. Have never been and are on a budget. Recs for lodging and some good eats in the Quarter?

Gracias, mi amigos.

Priceline name your own price. Won't find cheaper.

Thanks, 'Fro. Any suggestions on good grub in the Quarter? And, not the touristy crap that Catman likes.

Catman frequents Bubba Gump...true story.

Johnny's PoBoys is good in the Quarters...so is Coop's Place. Not in the quarter, but Butcher is really good.

Lots of options??? Depends on what they're looking to eat and how much of a budget they are on.

Oh and tell them to lowball the Downtown and quarter are on Priceline to like $55/night. I stayed at the Renaissance Pere Marquette a few weeks for like $65/night I think. Can't beat that. I mean shite it costs my car $30 to stay the night in NO.

Ha! So true.

re: their budget--they won't give me a figure, so they're on their own. Hell, the Windsor Court is $190 tonight. Everything seems rather cheap. Or maybe I've just had too much coffee.

Thanks, guys.

monteleone may be under $100 right now.

Queen and Crescent should be 60 or 70.

Summer is cheap.

How cheap of a meal are they looking for....I mean Emeril's is 3 courses for $20 at lunch...so is August.

Palace Cafe is doing temperature lunches for under $10.

Panny, check out new Dining Guide:
