Loaded the Yeti on Friday morning with ice and beer.
Tailgated all day Saturday before and after game, periodically adding beer.

Emptied it out yesterday at 1PM.

So, it's like a regular ice chest basically?

Yeh Yettis are awesome when you put ice in them and keep them closed. Like dont open them to get your beer or drinks out, just keep it closed at all cost so your can brag to your bros about all the ice in your sweet arse cooler

So you come here to complain about not having ice after using it as a beer ice chest for 4 days?

Post and pic provided for informational purposes only.

Plus, we haven't had a Yeti thread in a week or so.

Bourg - that redfish you had made and posted the other day. Does that guy sell them? Wanted to get one for my dad's camp.

Email me so we can discuss offline. Thanks.

If pre-cooling means keeping it in a 90° RV bay, then I'm good..

My Colemans never did this well, but they weren't Extremes.

If you were icing beer down for one day would there be any difference?

I'm gonna guess if you put ice in about any cooler and don't open it, it will stay cool. Just a guess though.

Yeah, kinda.

I used to ice all the beer at around 1PM on Friday.

By Saturday at noon or so, I needed ice. It is a PITA to ask people to lug ice all the way to a tailgate. Keep in mind, this was for the hot (September) games. Late October/November, its not that big of a deal.

for 1 day of tailgating in extreme heat adn all day of opening and closing opening and closing, a yeti provides extremely little benefit vs a top of the line coleman or igloo.

I would agree. 24 hours is 24 hours.

The real benefit is that first 24 hours, Friday-Saturday.

The Exteremes may do as well, I haven't used them.

Really dont get the hate for yeti. If you dont like them dont buy one. How/why does it bother people so bad because othe people buy them? Its not their money.. I have 2 yeti coolers, a 65qt and roadie (both were free). Yes yeti is just like any other cooler if you open and close it constantly getting beer out. To me there are a couple places a yeti separates itsself from the colemans of yhe world.
1. They are tough, i have stood on mine, sit on mine, dropped mine.. and not a crack.
2.The handles. They are durable and dont break as easy
3. If you dont open the yeti it will keep ice for several days, and everything inside nice and cold.

With that said, are those few things worth the extra $300? Maybe so maybe not.. just depends on the person. Put it this way, i was buying 2-3 coolers a year because i would break one, forget one somewhere, etc.. now its like anything else i own with value, i take care of it. I make sure i get it when i leave, i clean it out after each use, and i use it as a seat on the boat if need be. So to me its worth it
