It used to be like this on my land in Claiborne parish but most of those folks hunt elsewhere now. Still have this problem around my property in Union and Lincoln parishes

I am of the opinion that if it is legal and you want to shoot it, its on you. Just be aware of the effect on the herd. If you want to control what you do on your lease, it is your business. Not everyone is hung-up on scores, points, etc. I think the advent of hunting shows on TV has made everyone lose sight of what hunting is supposed to be, a fun way to get outside and get meat. If adjoining groups of hunters want to cooperate for what they mutually want, fine. If not worry about your land and MYOB. As long as they hunt legally and ethically I am fine with it.

Just because something is legal doesn't always make it ethical.

Is it really ethical to shoot everything that walks nowadays? Is it not better for the heard if you try to manage the herd in some way?

As another poster said, he had an agreed with the neighboring p club to a QDMA of sorts but the club ignored the agreement. Is that ethical? I'd think not.

Well to be fair, you can shoot everything that walks until 6 have walked by and then you're done. You can't shoot EVERYTHING

I feel like this.. If I pass on a year and half old buck he has a chance of making it.. if I shoot him he has no chance at all.. I kill does to eat I kill bucks for the racks..

This guy I'm talking about does everything legal except for mabe shooting more bucks in a year than he is suppose to.. The thing that gets me is he doesn't even eat the meat he gives all of them away.. I could see hunting large bucks if u don't eat them but to hunt spikes and 4 points? What does a long time hunter get from killing a little deer like that... Now if he wants to kill one or two for food and he just kills them two and is done I wouldn't have such a big problem with it.. He plants food plots puts out tons of corn and shoots every buck that comes by. Just because he wants too and he gripes about me and the hunting club behind us that shoots a few does every year.. Everytime I hear a shot from his way I know I just lost another one..

There's one problem; you think they are yours.

How many acres do y'all own/lease?

My land's in Lincoln Parish, too. Our piece of land is very small, so we're not picky on what we shoot. Plus I like to eat deer meat and don't get to hunt as much as I'd like to.

If you re-read my post I said you should be aware of the effect on the herd. I still say that just because you shoot does to eat and hunt bucks for racks, does not concern what a legal hunter shoots or how he hunts. Some folks do not care about horns. To each his own.

The idiots around me shoot deer out of season, and any size or sex is fair game. Once the dog season begins, those guys clean up the rest and pretty soon there's nothing to be found. Green jeans in my area earns every penny of his salary trying to keep up. It's depressing, really, since the area is still pretty rural and the deer have tons of resources to thrive if managed correctly.

Is it legal? Then what's your problem? If it's not, call the LDWF boys.
Manage your own land/lease and live with what's there.
Or, as others have said, grow a fence!

Nothing you can do about how he hunts. Just try and make your place more desirable than his.

Provide cover, food and don't pressure them too much. If the does live with you, the bucks will come looking. Remember, bucks have been known to travel 4 miles during the rut.
