We have a good bit in SELA. 99 hens to every drake though.

I've seen more of those up here in Maryland in one season than I've seen my entire life in Louisiana

Wife killed one this morning in Pecan Island. Had three come in, daughter already had her limit and I was videoing. Other two came back but she missed. Haven't seen one in a long time. Smaller than a blue wing.

They are quick like teal and will just land in large packs and sit on the water. Don't even move after we shoot at other ducks or geese.

Go hunt shorelines of lake borgne or Pontchartrain.....all the buffleheads you can stand and no one around for miles. Some folks from the great white north would cut an arm off to have the diver hunting we have in S La and we mostly could not care less

I have seen a drake killed in CenLa, but never laid my eyes on a hen...cool little bird.

We rarely got them in North LA. I can count the number of times I killed one on my hand back home

Do y'all find the buffleheads come down a little later usually in the second split? I didn't see as many this year in the first split. I still see them in the marsh late into February and early April when I'm fishing.

I've seen a lot of those on the east side of the state in the last two years. There was a gaggle of them flying around muscle bay at Christmas.
