Critical Duty is decent ammo, but it's far from being one of the "clear-cut winners."

LE agencies around the country are using .....
Federal HST
Speer Gold Dot
Winchester Ranger-T

..... in about that order.

I agree, operator error for sure. Really hoping it's not the weapon like he's claiming.

Critical defense 9mm only because of the rubber piece inside the JHP causes the bullet to be more aerodynamic

Any aerodynamic benefit afforded by the polymer insert is probably gonna be lost when the polymer warps/deforms due to heat & friction as it passes through the barrel.

Besides, at 20-30 distances, the ballistic coefficient of the bullet is really immaterial. I'll take the extra expansion of an HST load any time.
