Tons and tons of real people have been shot and stopped with proven ammo on the market, how do tests on ballistics gel beat out real world results?
I've shot a shite ton of living flesh with frag rounds. They work.
I prefer velocity and less mass to slow door knobs.
I know which I would rather have a surgeon trying to fox if it was me. A .45 jhp is one big would channel. Lacerations in every direction internally is something else.
Having said that, 10mm 165 grain is a little different than 9mm 45 grain.

I'm no balistics expert, but wouldn't those little light drags be more apt to stop when it hits a thick coat...?

In theory. But they puncture a few layers of denim easily. They also have no issue with hide.
Given how fat the average Joe is, fat is the bigger worry.
Fat minimized the damage of the initial pulverized tissue. It also moves out of the way better than muscle.
They're actually been instances where the bullet entered the front portion of someone's abdomen exited out of their back and actually never passed through their tor soso it stayed below the subcutaneous fat layer.

So you got it as a gift, haven't shot it or researched it? Gotcha'.
Well I HAVE shot the HST round that currently sits in the chambers of my pistols.
And can tell you that I have a bad feeling that I'm going to be severely disappointed in the LCD rounds. But do what you do man I hope I don't read about you in the news.

Is nobody going with Hydra-shoks anymore or has everyone that used to use them switched to HSTs?
I've only put hydra-shoks through my Shield (probably less than 300 rounds of that particular ammo though) from a defense ammo standpoint.

I wouldn't have a problem with 230gr hydra-shoks in .45ACP, but HST is better there, too.
