Help me out, just found this on the property. The fruit definitely appears to be a nut of some kind. Four of them in each pod (if you will). Anyone know?

It no longer looks like chicken tree leaves when I see it on my laptop. I retract my suggestion...

So is oleander, but people have those everywhere. Tung oil tree was basically done like a pine plantation is now, but much more thick. They used it for everything. Very big in Washington Parish

The older gentlemen on this board will be able to elaborate more

Yeah for sure a toug oil, very pretty when they bloom, but i think the seeds are very poisonous, so would be careful if you have small children or dogs that like to chew on anything.

Thanks for posting this. I see a lot of those up here in N. Alabama and was wondering the same thing. See them on side of the road, just never got that concerned enough to take pictures and ask.

Now I know...(and for those who watched GI Joe as a kid...you know that knowing is 1/2 the battle).

Tung oil. I remember seeing the remains of tung oil plantations along Hwy 90 in the Florida panhandle before I-10 was build. LINK
