It's close, I guess. Friends dog has been known to bite people too. I'd sleep easy if someone shot it if it bit them but it doesn't bother me that it's a little aggressive. As long as it's not hunting me down I can easily avoid something bad happening. Now if it came at me for no reason I'd attempt to frick it's world up.

Not worried about all that. He is at baseball practice as we speak. He did suck it up and carried on. Its dad that is pissed. The mom, she could give a rats arse. Coonass women are crazy.

No need. I have a 22 for nutria loaded up and a .20ga for snakes ready to roll in garage.
Both can take out dog if it comes on property.

Camp Coot is not the answer. Drop it off Essen at I-10. Say it's a boxer. Post in the OT. Someone will be there shortly to rescue it and kick the homeless guy under the interstate. :sarcasm:

All BS aside, call owner and ask if the dog has shots right away, like when it happen. If the dog does, your son learn a lesson. If not, you need to call animal control. The owner will have to pay for the dog to go to a Vets office for 10 days to be checked.
This is the rabies law in most states - requires mandatory 10 day quarantine for any dog that bites a human. In some states this quarantine can take place at home under supervision of animal control IF the dog is current on rabies vaccine.
I personally would ensure the bite wound was thoroughly cleaned or have the kid see a doctor as I've seen seemingly harmless bites turn into serious infections.

It didnt appear to break the skin. he will be bruised up though.
Again, lesson learned for him and hopefully from owner.

I went up to a mobile home I was renting to a guy, after dark, to get my rent. Decided to pet his dog by the front door, before I knew what was happening, the dogs mouth was sank into my arm, both sides. After beating it with a stick, I cleaned the wound with peroxide and gauze. I tried to be tough but after 4 days I was in ICU with IV's and shite hooked up, arm had shite oozing out, pretty bad. Be careful.

Any dog that bites children should be killed, and with a quickness. There's a lot of dogs out there, no reason to keep one that does shite like this.

If it broke skin, take him to a doc tomorrow and get some antibiotics for it. It can get ugly if not.

Probably ok then. Guess I shouldn't have assumed it broke the skin - tough little kid. I get at least a handful of bites each ear that get a little bloody.

Makes it damn difficult to trust em after that IMO. I get owners in from time to time whose dog bites them on the reg. Some come in with bad scars and everything. I would have zero tolerance for that in my house.

If I owned that dog he'd be shot by now.
Absolutely no room on this world for a biting dog.

agreed...I have no patience at all for aggressive pets...I decided long ago that I will never have a dog that is in any way aggressive towards people...just too easy to be financially ruined because of an unpredictable animal...

Y'all do what y'all want, I ain't shooting my dog, much less my neighbor's dog
Posted on 4/3/14 at 7:41 pm to Boats n Hose
No dog that ever lived at this house lived past the day it bit somebody who didn't deserve it.

*waits for Coot
this happened to me a couple of years ago actually, one of my friends had his kids up to our pond fishing and my dog went over to greet his oldest son,(6 years old) and when my dog walked over to him he smacked my dog in the face, my dog then bit is arm, the kid had that look in his eye like, "oh man, this dog is gonna kill me" and ran away
i jumped my dogs shite and put him in the house, my friend then said to his son one of the stupidest things i have ever heard before in my life, he said.. "son, you can't be afraid of dogs, they will bite you, you have to stand up to him", i promptly replied,"if you do that you will get one of these", and showed him the scar on my face from a dog bite when i was a toddler.. the kid's eyes got so damn big , he is more cautious these days..
i'm glad my dog bit that kid though, he is brat and it is all his dads fault for raising him that way, I feel that was an excellent learning experience for him.. the dog has never acted out since and is around kids constantly
