I am about to get a 20 ft hyper lift myself so I wanted to read this post. Like other guy said almost every topic on here has been discussed before. When I see a thread I am not interested in reading I just don't read it.

Every thread on the OB lately is the 100th repeat of itself lately...

Sadly I dont come here as much as I used to because of that.

The entire bottom, that had touched salt water, was stripped.

My son got one for graduation. Same thing has happened to his but no salt water exposure. My best guess is these boats got painted late on a Friday. His is on the way back to Arky to be be repainted.

All boards, but everyone doesn't see every thread so it's ok.

I looked at the 24 bay when I bought my boat. I thought it looked really nice but was a bit turned off by the size of the fuel tank. I want to say it is something like 35 gallons? I tend to run around a good bit because I'm bad at finding fish. That doesn't give you a ton of range if I'm at a buddy's camp for a few days.

My 22' has a 40 gallon tank and with the 4 stroke I can run far with it.

They changed them in 2012 I believe. Just checked the website. The H24B has a 30 gallon tank. I knew the older ones had a bigger tank just couldn't remember the numbers off of the top of my head. I looked at a lot of boats when I was in the market.

I have a 17' and it is great inshore with no rough waters. The rough waters make it a rough ride.

30 gallons is pretty small for that size boat especially considering that there will be at least a 200 pushing it.

My 21 ft Blue Wave has a 60 gallon tank.

like others have said...if open bay, coastal fishing, be prepared for rough rides. If you're gonna spend most of the time in the marsh, you'll be fine. Blazer Bay and Nauticstar make solid fiberglass boats more reasonably priced, esp in the used market.

If you want aluminum, you can also check out Hanko's in Morgan City. Don't know much about their service, but don't hear any complaints about them like Express.(fyi, I owned a 16 ft express all alum and had no problems)

Saw on their website that they are about to be selling an H18 Bay Boat with the Hyperlift Hull. I looked at the H20's and they were a bit big for me and the XP18 had the HD hull and was a bit bland. I'm thinking this might be my next boat.

If you are going to be fishing in Lake P, aluminum is going to be a problem.

I don't see how it would be a problem unless you leave it in the water all the time

You don't want to be caught out there in a thin-skinned semi-v aluminum boat when it gets rough (which can happen in about 10 minutes).

Some of the Xpress's have thicker hulls...
