G19 with TLR-1 HL light. It’s good to have although you don’t have to use it. More for backyard stuff.

I have a P365XL with a Shield RMSC optic. If I can find a good light for it I might start using it. I shoot it better.

I have a couple of ARs but if I ever need one of those,…

Most modern homes have enough appliances, electronics and misc gizmos that have various lights on them even when off that will give off enough light to navigate space that you are already familiar with...

The question is, if there are 2, and you liquify one and the other runs... what do you do?

If the perp runs out, nothing. If you are smart.

With me, it kinda depends on where I am when this goes down. If I am in bed, then I am probably getting my 870, which is nothing more than my son's 20 gauge that is loaded with buckshot. If it is while I am awake, then my Glock 36 with nothing more than night sights. If I am in my study, then it could be a laundry list of items to wreak havoc. Probably my M4.

I actually bought an I-target for my Glock and I practice sneaking around my house all the time shooting at my target in a mock break-in. My wife thinks I am a fruitcake when I do it. The only thing is I have a feeling I am going to completely go brain dead and forget my hearing protection if I ever do have a home invasion.

The kitchen and den are the two rooms that would have those and are on the other side of the house. From my bedroom door to the kitchen is 12 yards bedroom door to front door is 15 yards. The dining room is between both and it’s dark.

ETA: Besides that, you really need to be able to identify if it’s a bad guy or one of your kids before you start shooting.

Someone is breaking into your house and people are concerned about hearing protection? Lol. I think that’s the least of your problems. Oh no! There is a bad guy in my house who could kill my family. Let me quietly take them out to avoid hearing loss. Not being an arse, just found it funny.

No.

That's what the suppressor is for, so you don't have to worry about it.

Dogs in the house, 870 12 3" mag by the bed, 10/22 by my recliner with high cap mag red dot sight and laser. Not to mention a handgun here and there. Of course many guns were lost in a boating accident.

Glock 17 Gen 5 with TLR1-HL running 147g HST hollowpoints and (2) 19rd magazines.

The TLR1-HL is super bright and has a strobe button. Before I installed it on my gun at night I turned off all lights and had my wife shine the light at me from the other end of the hallway and I couldn't see anything but the light source. On strobe it is impossible to make out anything else in the room.

My theory is that I can use the light to my advantage and can put rounds on center mass without fricking anything else up in the house. A 9mm hole in a wall is better than an 8in hole.

absolutely..

every home/circumstance is different. In my case I could walk from one corner of my home to the other and it would not be an issue..

I think its a great idea to think ahead of the situation. If youre thinking ahead about the situation of someone breaking in, its not that crazy to also think of the situation of what the loud bang is going to do to your ears.

I’d love to fire my gun in a dark hallway just see what to expect from the flash/bang. Not sure if I’d be more blind or deaf.

Do it with ear plugs in. You'll still get enough of the general effect to appreciate how much it sucks.
