The best thing you can do is get a good reliable pistol and become familiar with it. Shoot it until you feel complete confidence and the gun basically becomes an extension of your body.

I don’t fancy the idea of shooting indoors without ear protection if it’s not necessary. I’d use the suppressor if available. I guess a 9mm indoors wouldn’t be too terrible but for people who use a 357 or AR for home defense, yikes.

Pray tell, how will you see, and how will you know exactly what you’re “aiming for” if it is pitch dark? Just blast away and check it out afterward?

Is your house completely dark?

Our city put in these god awful street lights that I want to shoot out, they shine enough light that I can wake up and walk around my house just fine with no light. enough comes through windows, even ones with blinds

I don't have any attachments on my pistol, but ive always thought suppressed would be best. I have hearing loss and you don't get it back. I wouldnt want to lose more. I could see one of those lights that flashes being a solid addition

I'm with tight-10. What I am grabbing is not going to require aiming, I'm blowing off limbs or splitting up skulls.

I don't know if I have enough confidence to wake up from a slumber in a potential frenzy to hit dead center.

The question is, if there are 2, and you liquify one and the other runs... what do you do?

A suppressor is probably the most useful accessory for a home defense pistol.

what will a suppressor on a pistol do for you?

Avoid the effect of having multiple successive flashbangs going off in your face while you're groggy and barely awake. I wish I had one. Shooting a gun in the dark is disorienting even with hearing protection. Indoors, in the dark, barely awake??? I can't imagine.

A couple of drops of CLP on the slide rails keeps it running just fine.

No shite. I was bow hunting so didn't have ear protection and fired my 10mm 3 times at a hog and my ears rang for over a week. And that was out in the woods. Cannot imagine how loud that would be indoors. Immediately ordered threaded barrel for the 10mm.
