What are your workplace rules regarding firearms?

My wife's company just had a meeting with them and told them no guns on the premises even in cars. She carries a Smith 637 in the car. The parking lot has public access with no gate. They have a showroom where the public can come on the premises.
I am lucky I guess in the fact I can CCW at work.

Isn't there a law that unless the parking lot is gated with a guard you cant do this?

Must do a desk pop before being allowed to carry in the office
But we can carry in vehicle just not in the office

Don't shoot them in a building unless your life is in danger.

Strictly prohibited but that doesn't stop me.

I regularly clean my guns or work on them at my office desk during long boring conference calls.

Seems I remember Keith saying that. And even if there was a gated lot, one that wasn't had to be provided that would allow weapons.
Maybe it didn't pass?

you must give a pre-counseled statement if you ever use your weapon.

Are they gonna go through searching every car?

I asked her and she said they were coming up with a policy. I know it's private property and he who has the gold makes the rules but seems like a bullshite policy considering the public access.

At some of the plants around Lake Charles they bring dogs that can sniff out empty shell casings.

Office policy says no weapons allowed.
Alabama law says employers may not restrict employees from having a firearm that is out of sight and in their locked vehicle if you have a CCL

Tennessee law says that an employer can not restrict an employee from keeping a gun in their car.

Same here, of course we have a lot a Lee way on in danger.
If someone ever came in my office with ill intent it would end badly for them.
I know of at least 3 of us that carry and are all weekly range guys.

A few years ago my boss told me that he would buy me a pistol as long as I brought it to my office everyday. I complied with his request.

Illegal. There is a law that states parking lots that are publicly accessible (possibly even gated parking), the employer cannot make you leave it at home
The owner at my company doesn't care either way.

don't ask, don't tell.
half the guys in this office have either a rifle or shotgun at hand. But most of them are for hunting or clay shooting. Its Broussard! If you don't hunt or shoot for some reason, they look at you funny.
No one asks about pistols, but i'm confident more than one has one in his desk or on his person. And I KNOW damn near every vehicle has a firearm (or arms) in it.
