Had a good day yesterday, was a quick bite and honestly one of the best trips for quality trout. Each were 2 lbs some 3. Had to put about 30 in my livewell with ice. Not bad problem to have. Glad I got on the water especially with my dad and brother!

Bass fishing sucked for us at Toledo so we went fishing for white bass.
Caught 90 in 2 hours.

Just curious. What do you do with them when you bring them home. Gar balls?

Sautée onions, bell peppers, etc in olive oil in a skillet. Cube up gar meat, season, and add to skillet. Stir around until meat flakes. Devour. Even the wife tears it up.

Grabbed about 100 frogs. Fried some for mother's day for an appetizer and grilled a backstrap at her request. Sorry...no pics of frogs or wife.

Took my twins on first trout trip with father-in-law.. Thanks to some good tips, managed to put 26 trout in the boat. Twins had fun, even named and measured the cocahoes.

Sounds like a great day for y'all.
Yard and shop work. Too nice a day to lay back.

Isn't froggin season closed right now?
We had a decent morning Saturday and brought home 27 specs and a few reds. Threw back about 100 small specs and a few bull reds.

Coon hunted Friday night. Treed one that we saw and a few other trees that we didn't see. It's tough right now with the woods being so green. If the dog doesn't tree on the edge of a right of way, odds are you wont see the coon.
Other than that, I didn't do a damn thing and it was glorious.

Had a good weekend. Friday I found this at the local Asian market and it made me chuckle:
Decided to mess around and make some NOLA style BBQ shrimp:
Then Saturday I went fishing on my birthday and figured out how to catch the elusive Saugeye:
Ended up with 2 before the wind blew me off the lake. 18" and 16". A lot of fun on sac-au-lit tackle:
Then for dinner I boiled some crabs I found at the same market as the "mullet" and they came out great. I was pretty surprised to find live crabs in OKC and I paid through the nose for them, but sometimes it's worth it:
My favorite chocolate chip cookies for dessert... mmmm...
Sunday was a pretty lazy day but did manage to spend a few minutes picking mulberries and got enough to eat on:

Fished Mother's Day. Weathe and conditions said trout but we couldn't locate them. Switched to plan redfish and got our limit by lunch. Biloxi Marsh

I'm guessing we had to catch anywhere from 7-9 for every keeper. Never seen so many small ones. We could have stayed in one place catching them almost ever cast, but I got tired of watching couyons keeping bream sized perches. I probably threw back 10-12 of the smallest sized pictured.
