Friday night - donated in a night tournament on Kincaid. Caught one fish, 4-14, and lost another bigun. Tourney was won with a little over 10# (3 fish)

Saturday - went to the Red and caught 16 small-medium white perch.

Sunday - rained all day, but went to Oakdale and picked out this little Kemmer squirrel dog pup.

Managed to catch 5 weigh fish at Toledo Saturday. It was a light day with 14.7 pounds but we managed 15th out of 55 boats. First tournament I have fished in a while and it was a blast.

Played in the Lake Bruin 4ball. Played bad golf, but I found a spot where the above flood stage Landmass River was rushing over a road bed. Caught all kinds of stuff. Barfish, Gar, Goo, a Bass, a White Perch and hooked up with several catfish that had to be over 50lbs. Couldn't figure out what kept breaking our line. Finally I was able to horse one almost up on to the bank and saw that it was a giant flathead. It proceeded to thrash its head and snap my line. Was pretty crazy. We hooked up with 12-15 of them and never landed one. I guess they were laying on the road bed eating crawfish/ baitfish as it drifted across. Monster catfish on a crawfish colored crank bait or rattle trap was a first for me. Next time I'll have some bigger tackle.

I've done the same thing around Bruin. Some of my favorite fishing.

Crazy things you see on the pacific.

One sorry little Cabezon for me yesterday. The wind blew like hell and the surf was nasty.

Lil Coot wanting to help do everything nowadays

That's great! I see a lot of parents discouraging their kids from helping because they are too slow, or don't do something exactly right. Lil Coot will be a much more competent and independent man for what he's learning right there. Good job dad!

No doubt. Made sure he swung it back and fourth in the water to clean off the mud before putting it in the boat too.

Should've seen him trying to pull up that fish basket with 78 thick arse lake runners in it yesterday. "uh dad, a little help please."

4 person trip down in Port A. Saw some of those elusive and endangered Red Snappers being checked by the TX Greenjeans on some boats next to us.

We ended up with 60 trout on Sunday. Mix of specks and nice whites. Wind was miserable on the island all weekend. Gonna catch up on small projects next couple days while it rains and get back to fishing on thursday
