66 NICE specks at West Timbalier yesterday morning.

Frick Grand Isle/Fourchon. Sounds like I missed a good weekend in my home waters.

Took the canoe down to Leeville and fished Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. Leeville is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to fish out of it. Came back with 6 reds and 2 trout. Also caught some rats and a flounder. I've had better days but I've definitely had worse days as well.

tried to fish new areas, so i launched at the marina at PAC. frick that. $15 for a bag of ice, two powerades and to launch. then boat stacked on top of boat, had to idle everywhere because of everyone crabbing then the greenjeans in their triton trying to check everyone, so i ducked off in the marsh.
two rat reds and a puppy drum before the wife got annoyed and wanted to go in.

Fished marsh island with the wife. Got our 10 reds and back home for noon.

Went to the Hammock for 2 hours with my boo and 4 yr old son.

Caught one red, wife and son each lost a red, son caught a gar, wife caught a stingray, and my prop caught a crab trap.

Not sexy, but eventful 2 hours.

Mine was like yours, the in-laws came over. They don't fish but have a kid who really likes too. I baited hooks, navigated, anchored, tied lines, untangled lines, fixed reel handles, fixed reel spools, showed em how to run crab traps and generally had my patience tested. It was worth it in the end cause the kid caught his first flounder and was proud of it because it was the only fish we caught.

Luckily I had defrosted a mess of fish so we could have a fish fry anyway!

Headed back from Fourchon now.

Water looked pretty good on the beaches but trout was not on the menu today. There seemed to be millions of hard tails on the beaches along with sharks and mackerel.

Fortunately a school of monster bull reds was patrolling the rocks near bell pass. My 11 year old caught her first bull red by herself and she was pumped. We managed to boat a handful of the monsters with the largest around 41-42 inches long. It saved the day for sure.

Saturday: 6 sailcats, 2 crab off dock at PC.

Sunday: 9 or 10 sharks, 1 sailcat, 1 Triple tail off CSB...we were fishing for Tarpon tho. Triple Tail was a nice one tho, 10ish lbs.

Fished Lake Verrett on Saturday. That isn't a usual place for me but I was with a guy who knew the lake. The wind was a bit funky. Caught two good catfish and three throwbacks, as well as a small gaspergoo and a little perch. The trophy bass were hiding.
