Pb and J, tater chips and water. Not turning on the oven in my hot arse apartment.
I've always wondered if I had what it took to storm the beaches at Normandy. Neither of my grandfathers fought in WWII so never had anybody to ask what it was like, except my neighbor who was in the navy, but his stories, while I do hang on every word, are nothing like I imagine some of the heavy fighting was like.

Mine was on the ground. He was a crazy marine till the day he died. I miss that man everyday.
I went home everyday after school in high school. Sat at the pool and drank beer till the sun went down. Simple time back in high school. I wish I could relive just one evening with him.

The best story my gandpa told me was of the time he left his seat at the rear of the plane only to come back and find a hole in it from enemy fire. I'm glad he decided to get up when he did.
