This place has more than the average persons imagination could think of. A piece of American west history, wildlife, oil and gas, agriculture. Half a million acres of south central plains for 3/4 billion dollars.

Why in the world would the family sell that?

KR would be over a billion in my mind. The name recognition is worth so much.

I wouldn't wven know where to begin putting a value on these huge ranches.

A man can dream can't he. What an amazing place. I read the article, which was very well written and I'm certain it won't do the property justice.

A Waggoner cow never has to walk farther than a mile to water.

That in and of itself is hard to imagine.

I'm on my phone and can't find the article but I seem to remember some serious family legal battles recently on interest and the business of it. Sounded like family had a hard time sorting things out on their own and they had to take it to court. Pretty sure it was the same ranch.
With half a million acres, I just don't see how there wouldn't be enough room for everyone to have a piece of the pie.

The article said its 50 miles as the crow flies from one side to the other. That's the distance from Baton Rouge north to the Mississippi state line.

Hell, there is 20k acres of lakes not counting stock tanks with fish. Never been commercially hunted

I'm just amazed at what all is there and the size of this place. I'd imagine no one person would buy it. I see it being divided and that is a shame.

Dispute of the heirs, some want to sell, some want to keep. None can buy the others out apparently.

Family F's up everything...I cant understand why they would sell this if they did not have the red A's with each other..... Trade cash for a near irreplaceable asset that spins off multiple streams of revenue? Congrats to the broker on this one

Definitely a shame. Can you imagine having an hour drive to cross your property?

A fricking hour hauling arse in a truck, not walking.

Sonuvabitch. It's the ultimate goal and spreads like that just don't show up anymore.

We would need a 12 pack just to drive across.

Think about it. You could strike out with a UTV and camping gear and stay gone for weeks and never see it all

And every step, you're stepping on dirt you own.

I have a hard time comprehending owning 100 acres. I can't fathom this. So much freedom

If the land was paid for out right. You could likely pay the taxes on it with royalties from the 1200 o&g wells producing. You could literally live off of the land and never leave your property.

I lnow for a fact I could not run a cattle operation there large enough to maximize the potential. I don't have the buisness sense to even come close to managing that.

I damn sure could run trail cameras, trap predators, and fish every day though

Hell the ranch hands and support staff would be a population of a small town. It would need a company store and whore house.

They're trying to keep 42% mineral rights. Anybody who takes that deal is a fool. Don't know too many fools with a billion dollars, so I doubt they're gonna find any takers with that offer.
