Be sure you have the right battery for a ford. Takes a lot of amps to crank one. Wrong battery will crank it one day an next Day it won’t

This baw came on TD to find out how to fix a draining truck battery, and felt the need to tell you how to fix your 3yo problem.

Except the word battery, I didn't comprehend a word yall said. Needless to say I'm not electical/mechanical minded.

But my truck did get directly hit by lightning, while parked, and it costs me $800 and 2 weeks. Burnt out every module - 7 I think. It took them a while to reprogram each one individually.

So reviving an almost dead thread again..

The "park switch" may be the cause of the parasitic draw,
it's an inexpensive switch that sends a shutdown signal to the BCM. When it goes bad the dash lights do not shut off and it drains the battery.
Fords fix is to replace the whole shifter assembly at around $650.00, they do not sell just the switch.
Here is the replacement switch with an more detailed explanation of why it happens.
