You should have bought it if you preferred it. There's a reason why ribeyes cost more than ground meat.
I couldn't justify the additional cost. I am hopeful Ford is making a good truck now a days.

I am hopeful my old lady gives it up tonight, but we all know the odds are stacked against me.

When I bought my Tundra (this was in 2010) I got $10k off the sticker.
Sold it 2.5yrs later and bought a 2012 Sequoia (new on the dealership lot for $6k less than sticker.
Looking at a new Land Cruiser now for my wife. Haven't discussed price yet.

I can. They last FOREVER.
Aside from the obvious benefits to you as the owner of something that doesn't break, everyone is aware of that fact, too. Consequently, they're also worth more for trade or resale than a Ford or Chevy of the same age with comparable options.

I don't disagree with you on the fact that they are bullet proof trucks. Again for the 5K difference I think the Ford is a good enough truck for my needs. Resale doesn't really come into play for me, I' keep my truck for years.

Sticker was $52,000 and I paid $45,600 for 2015 tundra. I went back and forth between dealerships in Lafayette and Baton Rouge.

Tundra's are overrated IMO. They get the worst fuel mileage and have the ugliest interior.

Your opinion and subjective at best.

Gosh, I feel like a dumas! Maybe I need to rethink the close to 20 that I've bought through the years, including the month old one I drive now, cause lefty said it was ugly inside.

I have never bought a vehicle because of how it looks. Tundra's don't change because they don't have to. Something other manufacturers should take note of.

If that were all true they would sell more of them. They can't even outsell the Tacoma. Hell they barely outsold the Colorado last month.

Because tundra owners don't have to buy a new truck every 6 years like ford owners you cracker!

Bbvdd, what deealer have you been dealing with around Memphis? They all expect msrp for Tacomas.

they must have had a heck of a bump sticker on that vehicle to come off that much...when i was selling vehicles i worked for toyota and the biggest mark up was of course on the platinum model and that was close to $5,500 and i think our bump stickers were around $1,500 i think. that was around that time frame too. the lower models normally had about a $3,500 mark up not including the bump sticker. every dealership will have a different amount for the bump sticker that supposedly includes nitrogen, vin etching, destination charges etc....might as well tell them to throw that in the trash because you didnt ask for all that. not even destination charges mattered on our bump sticker because if im not mistaken it was included in the "holdback" on the invoice.

Ford and GM and I would assume Dodge are now marking their vehicles up about 5K over MSRP, so they can discount $10=12K and still make money on it.
Not sure how people don't recognize this.

Either people in this thread are liars or the dealership that went to attempts to rape people without lube. I sell very large trucks (Western Star, and Freightliner) and can tell you that the margins that you guys are claiming to get off are more than what is in vehicles of the caliber you are talking about. We have 140,000 trucks that sticker is about 25,000 over cost and we don't even list for sticker because it would never sell. If there is 15,000 in a deal then you absolutely demolished someone and that typically doesn't happen because they would figure out and our business runs off of repeat business. The cars you guys are buying do not have 10,000 in profit in them so quit saying you got that off. If you want to lie say that they gave you more for trade and came down some off of sticker. That would be much more believable.

I've been saying that for years and they haven't gotten better yet.
Old ones are fine but the most recent one that's been around for 12 years or so is horrendous and the newest ones are such tryhards.

Bought both of mine at Wolfchase Toyota
Both the Tundra and the Sequoia were platinums.
I paid a little over $40k for the tundra with a $51-52k sticker
Sequoia had a $62k sticker and I paid $56k

What if a man wants a truck that doesn't break, pulls the frick out of anything, will last 20 yrs as long as he changes the oil every now and then, doesn't really care what it looks like, and the man understands a few less mpg doesn't really mean much when a couple extra gallons per month is a better use of money than having to work on his truck every weekend?
