How much less than the sticker price can you expect to get a new Tundra these days?

I emailed a bunch of dealers and that worked pretty ok for me. I think I got 3-5k off. Whatever it was, true car said it was an exceptional deal, that's what I used as my reference.

Yeah, on the Tundras it seems like most pay very close to sticker.

How did you get them to come down via email? When I was car shopping they essentially wouldn't even talk pricing until I went to see the vehicle.

Just bought one 3 months ago and he came down 13% after MUCH negotiation... also had a $1500 rebate and free oil change/tire rotation for 2 years.

they did the same thing to me a few months ago. wouldn't tell me a price until I went "test drive" a vehicle I already own.

Maybe $1-2K. Toyota doesn't flood the market with them, and overprice them to begin with, so there is less haggle.

It can be done, but it might depend on the dealership. The one I have dealt with recently only has Tundra's on the lot for about 5 days before they are sold, so they aren't motivated to discount at all.

If you have a trade-in it is easier to get them to go up on that then down on the sticker.

Every new Toyota comes with the Toyota Care package (oil change/tire rotation for 2 years)

Didn't do much for me on the price but gave me top dollar on the trade in. All star Toyota of Baton Rouge is where I bought mine and will buy my next.

I emailed all dealerships within maybe a hundred miles. Most didn't respond, I started talking to the ones that did. I wanted something pretty specific so they all had to do a dealer trade. I gave them the specs and they gave me prices, then I countered saying the price I would pay. The first one to do the deal got my business... though they turned out to be assholes for various other reasons.

But I had a price negotiated before I made the drive.

2013 Tundra

Sticker $38,500 on truck in lot. Wrote down VIN on the truck

I offered $30500 by email, they accepted, then went by and did the deal.

Just got a new one in January. Got top dollar on my trade in and still almost $2000 off sticker.

You'll pay less for a Tundra right now than a similarly rigged Ford/Chevy, and you won't have to worry about your door locks, windows, tailgate, and all the other little shite breaking.

All that being said, I don't know about percentage off, but you can get a 4wd double cab SR5 for $36k or so. Same Ford truck is over $40k, and still a Ford.

Sorry but I have a really hard time believing this. There is not that much profit in a vehicle in that price range.

This isn't even close to true.

I just bought a F150 for about 5K below an equivalent equipped Tundra. Would have preferred the Tundra, but they don't discount much, which has been mentioned in all threads related to this.

I just shopped them last week. Either I get a good deal on Toyota, or you got a good deal on a Ford.

You should have bought it if you preferred it. There's a reason why ribeyes cost more than ground meat.

10-12% on a Tundra is a good deal
