The look on her face when that drag goes out never gets old!! Try to get her out there 2-3 times a month. [/img]

man, that is a great way to spend time with your mom...you are making memories that you will cherish one day. you should try to get a little video footage of her fighting a fish or something like that.

I know but every time I get the camera out she's like "put the camera down, fish are biting"! I'm just going to break out the gopro and clamp on boat and press record next time.

We moved to this lake 8 years ago. Mom had never fished much,so at the ripe old age of 85 she started fishing in our back yard. She loved catching break, catfish and sacalait until her health deteriorated to the point she couldn't any longer.. 93 now.

Dbllung, cherish those trips with your Mom!

Just remember, slow and easy and once it starts getting hot, make short trips with plenty cold drinks. Us old folks are like young ones.

Keep up the good work/fun times. Outstanding taken old folks out on the water.

Great job there man. I assure you she appreciated it in ways you cannot comprehend, only a mother could...

I recently took my 71 YO mother and in me rushing her out in the morning, she took a whole Clonipin(which she never does) instead of her normal daily medication. She was on the verge of shitfaced for a good part of the morning. I've never seen anyone apologize so much for what appeared to be an epic adventure for her. By 9 or so, she was all about spanking the trout with the rest of us...

Moral of the story guys, if you love your folks, take then when you can. They appreciate it in ways you can't understand yet.

I agree 1000% I really think the fishing helps her more than any medication could. I get a call every Monday, "what's the weather look like for the weekend". Now when she starts telling me what the tide is doing and when peak fishing times are I'll start to get concerned!

Who you telling?? I'm 50 and I think she can handle the heat more than me. BTW, it's always me asking "you ready to go?" and the answer is always "one more cast" We have a bimini top and I'm always the first to put it up.
