Pops and I are arriving on Sunday and staying in the north state park cabins.

We will be fishing Sunday - Wednesday. I'll be providing updates throughout the trip.

Any OB'ers nearby let me know.

This is where we use to always launch when I was growing up. I have not been back in 15 years.

It's been a long time for me too. We almost always launch at cypress bend, or north state park if we're fishing up that way.

Made brush piles all morning. Lake was calm. Got on the lake around 1.
Ended up with 13 keepers and a bunch of dinks.
Caught mine on watermelon lizards today in 5-8 foot of water. Fished just north of the bridge.
Reports of fish being caught at Housen.

Slow today for me. Caught 3 keepers then came in because of rain. Went to the launch with beer and caught a 3 1/2 and a 4 in 10 minutes. Should have fished on the bank all day.
My buddy caught his limit.
Caught on senkos and lizards. Fished mid lake. Wind was a bitch half the day.

We leave tomorrow morning to start our trip.

I think I just set a record for buying/installing a trolling motor. Mine broke this afternoon for good at 7:15 pm. One of the magnets in the propeller sheared off and I could hear it rattling.

Immediate jump in the truck, off to academy. No 70 lb thrust in stock. Off to Bass Pro. They have one single non gps trolling motor in stock. They agreed to price match academy ($75 difference).

I left bass pro at 9. Had everything finished and ready for tomorrow morning at 10:15.

Back on track, $575 in the hole. Here we come.
