Saw 2 of these dudes yesterday in central Georgia. This one on the crawl and the other deep in a crack. They were both over 4 feet and thick.

Thanks.

I use an old Nikon D80. And I have 3 lenses I use - Nikon 50mm f1.4, Nikon 70-210mm f4-5.6, and Tokina 100mm f2.8 macro.

What kind of tree frog do I have in my garage boys? Honestly never seen one that resembled a leopard frog, only the greens, browns, and Copes greys. Big dude too

further research suggests likely a barking tree frog

Picked up what I assume is a rat snake, but it had a lot of yellow pigmentation outside of its black spots. Any ideas on that?

I have photos, but don't know how to attach. Glad to share if anyone wants to upload them for me.

Teague where are you finding all these guys at? One of the Land Trust areas I'm assuming?

Various places, mostly near, or in Huntsville. I don't like to put specific locations online for the rattlesnakes. I'm afraid it will make people who otherwise don't even know they're there, start paying attention and killing them.

I saw a couple of rat snakes and a box turtle two days ago out on the wildlife refuge, but I didn't have my camera with me.

Leopard frog? I caught one when I was a teenager and put him in a fish tank habitat for a few days. It's a good thing they aren't the same size as us because those dudes are savages. Would eat a cricket within 3 seconds of it being dropped in the tank

Don't blame you with the rattlesnake thing. Back before I moved from Huntsville I spent quite a bit of time out at Devil's Racetrack, the original Land Trust track around Fagan's Spring, and a few times on the trail up on Cecil Ashburn, but never found anywhere near the amount of critters you have.

Very good thread.

I live on over 100 acres of wildlife and when I'm healthy I love to walk all back in the woods and I run across mostly Cottonmouth's, King Snakes, Ribbon (Garter) Snakes, and occasionally Rat Snakes. I even had a Chicken Snake in my Chicken Coup once and had to put a bullet in his knoggin. They love to eat the eggs.

We have Alligators, all sorts of salamanders and lizards. My dog loves to eat them and catch em. I'll try and catch some reptiles around here when I see one again, but I am scared to death of getting bit by a snake as I was bit awhile back by a small garter snake and I be dead-gumb that thing hurt for such a small snake.

Yes, I'm a wussy I suppose.
