Have.
After he died.
Due to a gunfight.
In which he was unarmed.

catch over 20 SOWS and 50 boars that weigh over 300lbs. He catches 300+ hogs a yr

So over 20% of the pigs he catches are 300+ lbs?

I will bet anything anyone wants that we will catch over 20 SOWS and 50 boars that weigh over 300lbs.

He catches 300+ hogs a yr by himself and now that Ive got my new ranger and dogs we will catch more than that this yr

I will take that bet. How to you plan on verifying weight?

Just so we are clear: 70 total hogs (including 20 sows) over 300 lbs in a calendar year.

We feed heavily year round, and south Texas is known for its protein-rich natural vegetation. We have killed 1 pig over 300 lbs (the boar in the OP) in the 15 years we have owned the place.

we had a bunch of clubs here that turned loose Russians about 20yrs ago and our hogs have doubled in size since. before that there werent many killed over 200lbs.

This.

People talk about hogs eating deer feed, but about 90% of people only feed from October to December. I also feed year round but in raised troughs so that the hogs get very little of the feed.

Right now the hogs in our area are getting skinny. What acorns there were are gone and deer feeders are getting empty. Seeing a ton of rooting in the pines which generally means that food is getting scarce.

I have killed one that weighed 275 and one that weighed 250. Got plenty pictures of a few that look even bigger.

Why would anyone lie about it?

The same reason they claim to see black panthers and red wolves. They want to believe and they want a story to tell.

How much do you think the above pig weighs? The sow my dad killed was quite a bit bigger. Here's a 4.5+ year old buck in roughly the same place (a little farther away due to the mud hole the pigs wallowed out) with the same camera. Keep in mind that the camera is 6+ feet high angled down making both animals look smaller than they are.

Hard to tell. He might be pushing 2 bills. But you also didn't mention that in addition to the hog being closer to the camera that the camera is at a different angle (higher) for the deer pic.

Guess again, I know how much it weighed. Remember that the camera is elevated.

What proof do you have?

Again, NO ONE IS SAYING THAT THERE AREN'T 300 LB HOGS. However, everyone claims to kill a 300 lber. It has become the default weight. They are rare. How rare? Who knows, but I bet they aren't over 1% of the population.

Remember that you might not know what the frick you are talking about.

How do you know how much that particular hog weighed? You shot him right after the camera took that picture? If not, you will not convince me he is much over 200 lbs.

We keep them for a couple months before slaughtering
but I will find a way to weigh them as we catch them.
The hogs where we will be hunting have more poland china, other domestic hog and russian in them than piney wood.
one of the places use to be a high fence hog hunting ranch that went out of business.
They cut holes in the fences. Big hogs was their thing.

The camera isn't higher. It's was mounted on a bracket screwed into the tree

So, you domesticate them before you kill them? You realize hogs put on weight quick when they don't have to forage for food all day and all night?

Every hog is a mix. We used to release "blooded" hogs years ago to help bloodlines of the herd.

Dude, if you can't admit that the arched sapling is on the left side of the picture in the first pic and on the left-center side of the second, then this conversation is over. Can't argue with delusional.

no shite thats why we do it.

and these hogs have farms around to fatten them up,plus yr round feeders they put out to try and keep them from messing up crops as bad(I think this is a bad idea and just increases the population more).
thats why we go there to catch them,Theyre fricking up the crops.

I wasn't trying to be a jackass. I don't know how to rebuild a fricking motor, and when I start talking about it I'm not surprised when someone calls out my ignorance. Not being educated on something is not necessarily a character flaw. Pretending you know more than you do in order to try to impress someone, or validate speculation based upon little or no factual evidence is.
