Not this winter. We've only had a couple of cold snaps and no snow on the ground presently.

It all depends on what you do. Just hired a Sales Director and their compensation is around 70k.

Most tourism positions pay 10-15 an hour plus tips and bonuses. Tips can be $100 a day. I know our raft guides get around $100 a day.

If you work at some of the lodges around here pay can be substantial. I know a guide who got a 13k tip for one weekend.

Always. Depends on where you would want to work but yeah..it's a highly desirable profession here.

There are. If you're looking to go out on a boat, it's a bit more difficult though. You pretty much have to be in town when someone wants a hand.

Im going to take each of my 3 boys to Ak the summer they graduate. We'll work for 2mo then disappear in the wilderness for a mo. The oldest starts 9th grade next yr so not much longer. I cant wait.

My brother in law took a couple of clients out fishing last winter (Steinhatchee, Florida)put them on some fish. When they returned to shore, they offered him a Captains job up there. He took them up on it,had a great time. He will be going back this summer with my sister and their two boys.

Lodges right now are hiring captains.

In about six years I may be ready for a change of pace. If be down for a hike/yak guide.
