Enjoy it while you can that place is going to be just like Maurepas WMA before long with the salvinia and fourchette.

What happened? I know my hunting area Jackson/Bienville is about to go to private leases. State isn't gonna renew next year.

Posted by The Last Coco I strictly hunt public land for everything and I thoroughly appreciate the bountiful opportunities this state offers. I used to get really mad about stuff like you experienced this morning but have learned a few things: 1. Walk/ride/paddle farther away from the closest access point than you think necessary. If it's easy to access, it'll be overrun with stupidity almost every weekend. If you think you've gone far enough, keep going for another 30 minutes. 2. Hunt weekdays as much as possible. 3. Fully expect to have 1/3 of your hunts disrupted by dumbassery. Although sometimes other people's presence ends up helping you. 4. Try to not let that stuff bother you. Sometimes I just sit back, watch and laugh. 5. Realize that at the end of the day, they have just as much of a right to be there as you do. God loves stupid people too.

Great attitude to have.
Need more people like you.

Invasive aquatic vegetation is starting to move into Sherburne like it did in Maurepas.

Getting pissed off at other people hunting public land on the first Saturday of the second split is like getting pissed off at people being at the mall at Christmas. It's not your hole it's not your woods regardless of how long you've hunted it. Don't like it don't go.

These duck dynasty tagalongs will be onto deer hunting now thanks to the Busbice boys anyway.

It's about time the duckheads recognize the superior sport anyway

You're correct, but there are rules for the wma for safety concerns as well as common decency. These rules and safety practices were not followed which put their safety in jeopardy.

I don't hunt public land for ducks but if I did I would go in the middle of the day. Most people hunt mornings. Go find a place those mallards are staging and pop 'em.

I'm just fricking around. Don't know whether sport or hobby, do know it's expensive as hell.

I got out of my lease last year and I'm sure there are going to be 100k crossbow slinging A&E watchers expecting to go shoot 140" 8 points in Livingston Parish, driving up the price of decent leases.

1. I'm unfamiliar with rules on how close you can be to another group of hunters on WMA's "for safety"
2. If you felt unsafe and didn't move, that's on you.
3. You admitted to peppering them, after blowing your call like a kazoo, and "accidentally" shooting when they had mallards decoying.

Not exactly making a great case for being a safe hunter displaying common decency yourself.

Did duck dynasty really make more duck hunters? LP is already populated 80% by meat hunters, it won't change much. Unless I guess they start hunting during the day instead of spotlighting, then that could be an issue.
