They were made in green, brown, and black. Green is the rarest of the colors.

They made a Senaca Green model for a short time. It's a rare model and highly sought after these days. They also made a green model that was magazine fed instead of tube fed through the stock. It was a Kmart special in the late 80's but was called an Apache 77.

I remember the Nylon 77's. I imagine those mags are pretty hard to find.

I have a Nylon 66 as well and the stock is broken completely off at the safety. In good shape otherwise. I can't see spending what they want for a new stock so I'm contemplating making a wooden one from Walnut or something. The gun has no sentimental value to me. Any suggestions on what to do with it?

I've also seen in several forums that Remington will exchange it + $75 for a different model .22 but I've emailed them and they have yet to answer. Anyone know if that is true?

Looks good. I never had one but kinda want one after hearing how some of yall talk about em.

My "first gun" was a Nylon 66 w/ the chrome barrel/receiver cover and black stock. It's a really nice gun, especially if one shoots it w/ open sights, but usually not so nice when shot w/ a scope. I put a scope on mine some years back when my eyes started to struggle w/ open sights. I've heard of some that shoot well w/ a scope, but most don't; mine didn't shoot well w/ the scope. The receiver has a lot of plastic parts; what appears to be metal on the outside of the receiver is actually just a piece of sheet metal covering the plastic receiver. The barrel attaches to the receiver w/ a plastic part. The scope attaches to the receiver cover. When using open sights, both the front and rear sight are attached to the barrel. This is not the case when using a scope. Consequently, accuracy usually suffers as the plastic attached barrel moves in relation to the scope on the receiver cover. Still a really fun gun to play w/ and VERY reliable.

try to repair the stock, with Brownell's acraglass epoxy bedding and some dowels to give strenth across the break(s).
