I'll check the video out during lunch. But for $100 less than the Springfield, you might have me sold already.

So getting the advice on the Springfield loaded and SR1911 is good. I'm leaning to the Loaded Stainless Steel. The best I can find it, so far, is around $750 at budsguns.

Buy a used one, baw. If you know where to look, they come around quite often with "only 20 or so down the pipe". Just do a visual inspection(make sure it's not beat to shite) and function test (make sure it'll rack, cycle a round, and dry fire).

Anyway, the point is, you can get one of these guns that list over $700 new for what your budget range is.

ETA: Her's one that sold for $590 on bud's guns...

How's this for $675?

A S&W E Series 5 inch Stainless for $675. Yes, I get the professional discount.

I had a FNP, great gun, I sold it due to cost of ammo, this was back at the height of the hysteria.

I've regretted it ever since.

I did sell it used for more than I paid new.

Thanks Obama/NRA :)...

Damn good deal. I own an E series myself (check avatar) and think it's a very handsome look. I also think the fish scale serrations are the most usable on any pistol.

Don't be discouraged by the external extractor. Mine has never had an issue with it.

I have a Springfield Champion 1911 commander size.

I say this because the trigger on this gun sucks. One of the best things on a 1911 is the trigger. However mine sucks. I will have to rebuild it at some point.

I own a FNX 45 and love it. Its as accurate as a 1911 but features double stack magazines for a 15rd capacity. Very ergonomic and comfortable to me. I've had zero issues with it and it stays next to my night stand so I can sleep well at night.

I gave it some thought and decided to hold off of getting a 1911 until I can get the one I really want. (A Kimber Raptor II) So I decided on getting a Springfield XD Mod 2 45 Sub-Compact. I found one at a local shop that was on sale for right around $500. It's a good shooting little gun and holds 13 rounds in the extended mag.

I have a G21 and a G30 SF. Both are more accurate (and according to my wife, more reliable) than I am.
