im installing mine this afternoon. to those that have them, where did you mount the remote? im going to use my wireless one for my neck, but it came with what im guessing is a permanent one to go on the console, the front deck or the back.
im guessing the console would work best for whoever is fishing the back of the boat so he can deploy it?

Mounted mine on the console.

No need to put it in the front, you will have one on your neck

Had my regular powerpole switch mounted on the console. Nice for when you are driving and just stop somewhere for a second.

so be it, good excuse for another
i'll probably be right at the maximum weight, but two people I know have them. one on a spyder skiff and the other on an 18 foot gator tail.

Love mine. Keep you a spare 15amp fuse with you just in case.

Who's got beer holders? You're not gonna put your beer down?

Any update on how well it holds the boat? Also, any pictures on how you installed it?

I am thinking about putting one on my 18' Xpress CC. I don't know if I should spend the extra money and get the talon or if the micro will hold the boat.

Looks like i am right at the top of the weight limit.

Would also like an update.

When not engaged, how high is the pole above the boat?

my buddy picked one up for $300 for his 20 foot express. surprisingly and much to my disappointment, it holds his boat great in up to 6 or 7 feet of water in a good current. I was going to buy it from him and run duals

Depends on how long of a spike you're using and where you have it mounted. The boat I just sold had a deck mounted motor and a 6ft spike. I never kept mine in the full up position because it would rattle, I always kept the spike either touching the water or just above it so the top of the spike was usually about 5 feet off the deck of the boat or 6 feet off the water, give or take a few inches. I even have a 4ft spike I used on occasion. I bought my spikes from Grainger rather than powerpole. Any 3/4 inch rod will work.
